US starting 2009 with three successful tradeshows

The beginning of 2009 has been busy in the US with three tradeshows already. Read more about them here.

US Show

Successful beginning of 2009

The uncertain US economy has had far reaching implications and trade shows have not been exempt, seeing attendance drop up to 50% in some cases. Despite all the doom and gloom, HTC Inc has had a very successful beginning to 2009 with the three major tradeshows so far garnering exemplary results.

World of Concrete

The first show was World of Concrete located in Las Vegas, NV on February 2 through February 6.  This is the largest and most important show that HTC, Inc is involved with and everyone is ecstatic it exceeded expectations. Attendance to the show was down, 40-50% by some reports, however HTC’s booth traffic was only off by 20% from 2008 and the quality of leads generated was better than previous years. HTC had a 50’ x 40’ inside booth that included video demonstrations and sample equipment and a 40’ x 60’ outside booth that incorporated a concrete slab used for demoing the entire HTC machine fleet.  This was the first American tradeshow that the 1500 ixT was operational and as expected, it received a lot of attention!  The live demonstration led to the first American sale of the HTC 1500 ixT machine.

The SPEC Show

The next show was The SPEC Show in Kissimmee, Florida, February 21 through February 25.  The SPEC show is a smaller tradeshow, focusing on retail chain stores and is very important for both Superfloor and Twister.  At this tradeshow HTC has a 20’ x 10’ booth and this was used as a platform to connect with key decision makers in several major chain stores.  The show is mainly used to promote the Twister diamond cleaning system for floor maintenance as well as HTC Superfloor™ as a floor solution.

The ARA show

HTC then attended the ARA show in Atlanta, GA on March 3 through March 5.  The ARA show is a showcase for the American rental industry and this was the first time HTC had attended. Overall, it was a very successful show and we expect to build on this as we make inroads into the rental industry here in North America.

All three shows produced some promising leads in both the development side of the business as well as for core machine sales.  These successes give us an excellent foundation to build upon as we move through 2009.
