Processing asphalt with grinding technology

Asphalt

Asphalt can be ground in exactly the same way as concrete to level off the surface, remove ridges or produce a smoother surface. The advantages of grinding include reduced noise, lower rolling resistance and higher friction, as its high cost-effectiveness compared to milling away and re-laying. As a method of dealing with noisy roads, for example, grinding is cheap and inexpensive, particularly in urban areas. Grinding technology can also be used on surfaces such as cycle routes or pavements, where more even surfaces and structures are required.

Advantages of grinding
  • Reduced noise
  • Reduced particle emission
  • Increased friction
  • Lighter roadways
  • Extended service life
  • Increased driving comfort
  • Lower rolling resistance
  • Reduced fuel consumption
